Treatment For Hemorrhoid

Finding a treatment for hemorrhoid can be daunting. Many have heard the word hemorrhoid, but have no idea what it even is, that is until they themselves become someone who has to deal with having a hemorrhoid or hemorrhoids or have a family member dealing with them.

The first treatment option that you will have to seek a doctors’ advice about is rubber band litigation. This involves a physician actually placing a rubber band around the hemorrhoids. This cuts blood supply to the hemorrhoid, which in turn causes it to fall off, thus relieving the discomfort. A second treatment is to undergo sclerotherapy. This involves a sclerosing agent to be injected into the hemorrhoid. This kind of agent causes the walls within the vein to collapse which then causes the hemorrhoid to shrivel up. Another hemorrhoid therapy that can still be considered is the used of cautery methods which can be done using electrotherapy or cryosurgery which would either burn the hemorrhoids or freeze the hemorrhoids depending on the method chose.

There are three methods that can be chosen if the aforementioned remedies do not work; however, many physicians choose to employ them as last resorts as they can have undesirable side effects and increase the risk for infection. These first of these three methods is to have a hemorrhoidectomy. A hemorrhoidectomy is performed by a doctor and involves having the hemorrhoid actually cut off, thus resulting in discomfort and pain after removal. The second method is to take the artery out of the hemorrhoid by performing a Doppler guided transanal hemorrhoidal dearterialization. Complications with this method are similar to those of the hemorrhoidectomy; however, this method normally comes with less pain. The third method is to have a stapled hemorrhoidectomy. This procedure involves a physician resectioning the tissue surrounding the hemorrhoid which in turn disrupts blood flow. This is less painful than the previously two mentioned options.
